Inside Threat Attack Demo

Follow along as David demonstrates a scenario where a trusted engineer turns rogue. He uses his access to exploit his companies systems using open source tools such as Kerberoast and John the Ripper to initiate a Kerberoasting attack in an effort to steal company data.  Then see how this attack could have been prevented through Varonis.

David Perry graduated from Graceland University in 2006, after which he moved into the security industry for the last 14 years, working closely with companies to provide top security solutions.  David has been working at Varonis for the past 8 years where his focus is on protecting companies’ data and core infrastructure and preventing cyber security attacks.  Before working for Varonis, David worked for PhoneFactor, a two factor security company dedicated to providing two-factor security to companies around the world. They use the first of its kind phone based second factor authentication

Security Operations Maturity Model (SOMM)

Effective security operations are the first line of defense when it comes to preventing cyberattacks. To accomplish this, organizations need mature and measurable programs that leverage people, process, and technology to rapidly detect and respond to sophisticated attacks. This presentation will outline a model for Security Operations maturity. Organizations can use this model as a basis to evaluate their current security operations maturity level and develop a roadmap to achieve the level that is appropriate in the light of their specific resources, budget, and risk tolerance.

Dan Geisler is an Enterprise Sales Engineer at LogRhythm, where he works to plan, architect and deliver practical security solutions that meet business objectives and risks.
