Topic: Cloud Security and Compliance

Topic Summary:
The cloud "shared responsibility model" isn't new but defining these responsibilities and assigning accountability continues to evolve. After completing this session, you will be able to:  Define the cloud shared responsibility model specific to security and compliance "of" the cloud and "in" the cloud from both the cloud service provider and cloud user perspective.
Understand latest cloud updates and trends, address cloud shared responsibilities and key risks and controls requirements such over common regulatory requirements and standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI, ISO, SOC, and others. Protect workloads and apply the above learning objective   within popular cloud products such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.

Speaker Bio:
Brad Thies is Founder and President at BARR Advisory, a cybersecurity risk management and compliance advisory firm. Brad is a recognized thought leader on security and compliance in the cloud computing space. He is a regular guest speaker at industry events, such as ISACA conferences, and a member of the AICPA's Trust Information Integrity Task Force. Brad's professional advice has been featured in Entrepreneur, Cloud Computing Journal, Small Business CEO and Information Security Buzz.

Please join ISSA-KC Chapter members and other security professionals for a 8 week CISSP CBK overview course we will be hosting at Black and Veatch in Kansas City, MO.
2019 Exam Preparation Course: KC-ISSA will be hosting an 8-week CISSP CBK overview course, which we will cover high-level concepts from each domain, test-taking strategy, and recommended resources. This course will begin on Oct 8th, and will be conducted weekly from 6-9 pm.

Topic Summary:
A key initiative in the path to digital transformation is developing new and migrating existing application workloads to include a multi-cloud infrastructure. Applications span from on-premise to public, private, and hybrid environments and include modern application architecture based on containers and Kubernetes.

Organizations expect to achieve agility and rapid deployment, better ease of use, elastic scaling, automation, and increased operational efficiency. But in this brave new world, how can you ensure that your applications are secure and that you have visibility regardless of where your apps reside?

I can send you a regular phish email and completely take control of your account even if you use a super-dooper MFA token or smartphone app. Attend this webinar and learn the 12+ ways hackers can and do get around your favorite MFA solution. The webinar will include a (pre-filmed) hacking demo by KnowBe4's Chief Hacking Officer, Kevin Mitnick, and real-life successful examples of every attack type.
